The Prabha Khaitan Foundation, supported by Oil India Limited and in association with Dibrugarh University, presented a two-day cultural and literary festival titled “Ramayana – Epic of All Epics.” The festival is scheduled for March 12 and 13, 2026 at Dibrugarh University, celebrating the enduring legacy and timeless relevance of the Ramayana, one of the world’s greatest epics.
The festival will bring together eminent scholars, writers, and cultural practitioners to explore the literary, philosophical, and cultural dimensions of the Ramayana. Through engaging discussions and artistic performances, the event aims to highlight the epic’s influence across literature, performing arts, and society.
The inaugural ceremony took place at 4:00 PM at Dibrugarh University. The session began with an Introductory Address by Dr. K. Sreenivasa Rao from the Prabha Khaitan Foundation, followed by the Inaugural Address by noted scholar Prof. Baldev Bhai Sharma.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University. The ceremony also featured Manjari Mishra from the Ayodhya Royal Family as Guest of Honour. The formal proceedings were concluded by Prof. Satyakam Borthakur.
Adding a vibrant cultural dimension to the inaugural evening, the audience witnessed a Sattriya dance performance depicting “Sita Haran and Jatayu Vadh,” episodes from the Ramayana that reflect themes of courage, devotion, and sacrifice.
The Ramayana – Epic of All Epics Festival aims to create a meaningful dialogue around the epic’s continuing relevance in contemporary society while celebrating India’s rich literary and cultural traditions. Scholars, students, artists, and literature enthusiasts participated in this unique confluence of ideas, scholarship, and performing arts.
