The Write Circle brought an evening of poetry, ideas, and literary reflection to Ajmer, where poet Jagdeep Singh engaged in a thought-provoking conversation with Malati Mathur. The session offered audiences an opportunity to explore the creative impulses, personal experiences, and intellectual influences that shape contemporary poetry.

Through an engaging dialogue, Singh reflected on his literary journey, sharing insights into the evolution of his voice as a poet and the inspirations behind his acclaimed works. Jagdeep Singh is a noted publicist, poet, and former educator whose work has earned recognition in contemporary Indo-English poetry. His debut collection, My Epitaph, received widespread critical acclaim and was recognised by the Journal of Commonwealth Literature as one of the most notable debut collections of 2020–21. His second anthology, When Gods Don’t Matter, launched at the Jaipur Literature Festival, further established him as a distinctive literary voice.

The audience remained deeply engaged throughout the evening, contributing thoughtful questions and reflections during an interactive Q&A session that added further depth and dynamism to the conversation. The lively exchange underscored the enduring power of literature to foster dialogue, introspection, and meaningful human connection.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome address and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Swati Vashishtha. Marking a graceful close to the gathering, poet Jagdeep Singh and conversationalist Prof. Malati Mathur were presented with Dokra artefacts by Devendra Ratnawat in recognition of their contributions to a memorable evening of literary engagement.

The event brought together writers, readers, and lovers of literature, leaving attendees with fresh perspectives and a renewed appreciation for the transformative power of poetry and conversation.
