A New Literary Chapter Unfolds in the Hills

A new cultural chapter began in the serene hills of Nainital as Prabha Khaitan Foundation introduced its flagship literary initiative, The Write Circle, to the city for the first time. The inaugural session brought together readers, writers, and literature enthusiasts for an evening of engaging conversations, storytelling, and reflection.

The session featured author Neelima Dalmia Adhar in conversation with Reena Kumari, Ehsaas Woman of Nainital. The dialogue explored the many facets of writing — from the inspirations behind a storyteller’s journey to the enduring influence of mythology, heritage, and human emotions in literature.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome by Chandrika Kumari from Welcomheritage Ashdale, who introduced the Prabha Khaitan Foundation and its diverse initiatives across literature, culture, arts, and social impact. Her address set the tone for an enriching exchange that celebrated the power of words and ideas.

Sharing insights from her literary journey, Neelima Dalmia Adhar reflected on the experiences, histories, and personalities that shape her narratives. With her characteristic depth and candour, she spoke about the process of transforming memories, observations, and cultural influences into stories that connect with readers.

The conversation also highlighted the importance of preserving conversations around India’s literary and cultural traditions, creating spaces where authors and audiences can come together in meaningful dialogue.

The evening concluded with an engaging interaction with the audience, marking the beginning of a new literary tradition in Nainital. Akshobh Singh felicitated the author with exquisite Tribal Bamboo Masks from North-East India, celebrating the spirit of cultural exchange. Smriti Goyal, Ehsaas Woman of Haldwani, delivered the vote of thanks, bringing the evening to a warm close.

The session was followed by an intimate book signing, where readers connected personally with the author, making the first edition of The Write Circle in Nainital a memorable beginning.

This session was organized with the support of Ehsaas Women of Nainital and Hospitality partner Welcomeheritage Ashdale
