Insight, Intuition, and Literary Exploration at The Write Circle in Delhi

Delhi came together for an engaging edition of The Write Circle as author Deepta Roy Chakraverti joined Mrinali Luthra, Ehsaas Woman of Delhi, for an evening of thoughtful conversation and literary reflection. Bringing together readers, writers, and lovers of ideas, the session offered a fascinating glimpse into Chakraverti’s creative journey and the experiences that have shaped her distinctive voice.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome address by Charu Chauhan, Ehsaas Woman of Delhi. Through an insightful and inquisitive exchange, Deepta Roy Chakraverti reflected on her evolution as a writer, discussing the inspirations, experiences, and intellectual pursuits that inform her work. The conversation explored themes of identity, intuition, spirituality, and storytelling, while also delving into the author’s creative process and her enduring fascination with ancient wisdom traditions.

A lawyer trained at King’s College London and a graduate in Mathematics from the University of Delhi, Chakraverti spent over a decade working with leading corporates before returning to her first love—the study of mystical traditions and writing. Her work draws upon a rich blend of influences, including her engagement with esoteric knowledge systems and a remarkable family legacy rooted in social reform and cultural thought. During the discussion, she shared insights into how these influences continue to shape her perspective and literary pursuits.

The interaction between the author, conversationalist, and audience brought depth and warmth to the evening, fostering meaningful dialogue and shared perspectives. An active Q&A session further enriched the discussion, allowing attendees to engage directly with the author and explore the themes raised during the conversation.

The evening concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Richa Bafna, Ehsaas Woman of Delhi. As a token of appreciation, Deepta Roy Chakraverti was felicitated with traditional terracotta artefacts from Central India by Dipali Bhasin, Ehsaas Woman of Delhi. A warm book-signing session and personal interactions with readers brought the event to a memorable close, extending the spirit of conversation beyond the stage.
